Message This is what the jefferies tubes/ducts are for (that's what Mike Smith calls them, not sure if it's the right term as it's off Star Trek as well. Lol). This is the ducted section that is molded into the under skirting on the sides under the ICs. It's designed to actually pull the air out from behind the IC. Pulls it out and under the car. This is why having items behind them like the water tank is not that big of a deal.

I'm working on a set for my rear engine splash shield to help pull the hot air from the radiator through and out of the engine bay. With the tight space between the radiator and engine it needs all the help it can get. It's basically the same situation as the ICs.
